“I Feel Like I’m Fixin’ To Die Rag” was created by Country Joe and the Fish to protest the Vietnam war. It’s amazing how powerful this song really is, you can feel the tension and the anger at Woodstock as the camera sweeps through the crowd. People really stood up for what they believed back than, I wish we had the same commitment as a nation today.
We shall start this afternoon with the band YES.
The song that I have posted is “I’ve Seen All Good People” by YES off the Yes Album, 1971. (Great Album!)
YES is one of them most revolutionary bands in Rock and Roll history, yet another English Rock band that has made a difference in the music of today. The band came together in 1968 and still exists (even though there have been plenty of musician changes). YES was influenced by bands such as: The Who, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Beatles. This group has inspired many fantastic bands including Queen and Electric Light Orchestra. I hope you like this selection!
Oh yeah, if you like YES you should check out their live concert performances, they are fantastic and filled with light shows and (sometimes) space ships.
The next song on the album (since all of the songs blended into each other quiet well) is “Love of My Life”. “Love of My Life” was a piece written by Freddie Mercury ( Farrokh Bulsara) with 12 string guitar arrangement by Brian May. I hope you enjoy these two pieces as much as I do. There will be plenty more to come!
Here is my first Tumblr post, of course it must be about Queen!
What is Queen noted for? “Bohemian Rhapsody”,”We Will Rock you”, “Bicycle Race”, and “Somebody To Love”.
Here is a song that is a must listen for any Rock and Roll fan. “The Prophet Song” (written by Brian May) is actually on the album, A Night at The Opera. This Album is phenomenal so if you own a record player (like me) it is a must have in your collection! A Night At The Opera is one of the most expensive albums ever produced since the band refused to use synthesizers to cut costs.
